A day trip to the Nicuraguan border- we didnt cross it!

On Friday i went for a day trip up to the Nic border to the Caño Negro wildlife refuge park. I went on a boat trip down the Rio Frio (its a river if u havnt guessed already) to see some spectacular wildlife- its one of the important wetland sites in Central America. I was a bit sceptical about going on this trip as all my other trips have been unsuccessful in seeing lots of wildlife.

I was however pleasantly surprised.

We saw, howler monkeys and spider monkeys, both two and three toed sloths, caiman, and anteater, bats, kingfishers, igrits, herons and many many other types of birds.

All in all a good day out- and it didnt rain, well it didnt when i got back to the hostel and wanted to take a swim in the pool. Typical. So i went shopping again...opps
