OK, so since the Dodgers weren't in town when we thought they were (the first time we were in LA), we had to go back to catch them at home.

We crossed the border back from Mexico Friday morning, hung out in Hollywood (lame) and West Hollywood (cool) during the day, went to the Dodger game that night, then headed north so we could sleep in the car in a WalMart parking lot.  (Maggie refuses to shop there, but will gladly take advantage of their overnight parking policy.)

While we liked the fans at Dodger Stadium, we did not like the park or the park rules.  The stadium holds about 56,000 people, and the Dodgers have dedicated fans, so it can get pretty rocking.  Even when half the place is half empty it's still 26,000 people dressed in blue and screaming.  It's so big that you are completely removed from the action, even in the good seats, which you can't get to because each tier has separate admission gates.  Some other no's: no posters, no bringing  in water, and most ridiculously: no tailgating in the parking lots (which cost $15 and are the only real option, especially since transit in LA is virtually nonexistent).  Lame.
