And She's Off . . . . . Barely

Yup, it is me!  Figured less hair was probably the best way to go given the hot and humid conditions I would be heading to . . . . .  Feels weird!

So, I started off with only 2 hours of sleep the night before heading off, nerves you ask?  Actually no, I was fussing around with my ipod until 5am trying to figure out which 780 (thought I had 1,000) songs to load for my travels!

Despite not much sleep, I was actually quite alert and awake, probably because I was eager to start on my trip.  I had planned on taking public transportation to the airport - might as well start sooner than later - but my friend Sharon so kindly offered to drive me and I wasn't about to not take her up on that opportunity (thanks Sharon!).

Once at the airport and with 2 hours before my flight, I thought I had plenty of time to check in, get through security and eat something.  How wrong I was.  It took me about 1 hour and 15 minutes just to check my bag in and that was with being pulled out of the line to check all passengers for Tokyo.

After getting through security my plan for lunch was thwarted because I only made it onto the plane with about 20 minutes to spare.  But I made it, phew!  Thankfully, once on the plane they stuffed us with two dinners and snacks during the 10 hour filght - I guess I had forgotten that on international flights you get treated so much better and the food was actually tasty!

With a movie or two, food, some sleep and reading, the flight went by relatively quickly.
