Things started a little slow, flight was an hour late getting off, got held up in maintenance. (that's always nice to hear)

After the 20 hour flight, landed safely in Frankfurt at 6am. Flight was really good, though I only managed about 2 hours sleep.

so, the car is ugly

Made it out of the airport really quick and had the car in about 30 minutes.

OK, so, the car is ugly, but It's damn quick and a lot of fun to drive.

I took it for a drive through the countryside (ok, along the autobähn, but i could see the coutryside) up to Köln, jet lag was kicking in pretty heavy on the way back and it rained the entire time I was there, but it was well worth the drive. The gothic church there really leaves an impression.

I must have been hallucinating when I arrived back in Frankfurt, as the hotel that took me 10 minutes to find before I left, took about 40 minutes to find the second time. I guess a real map would come in handy. Nevermind I found it eventually and was asleep as soon as I hit the bed (4pm).

Was wide awake 4am the next morning. Had breakfast, checked out and wandered around Zeil (main shopping area in the centre of city). Checked into the Savoy in the city (note: check how much parking is before booking hotel next time) and had a nap before going out to meet CJ's friend Viviane. Viviane was a really good tour guide CJ. Took in the touristy stuff (including some apple wine in a street fair)and then stopped at a pub for beer and some snitzel with potatoes and bacon (yes, i'm home!!).

Faded pretty fast though and had to head for the hotel after the pub (hey, i made it to 12).

Managed to sleep until 6 this time, had breakfast etc and hit the road.
