Our first day in Hong Kong got off to a slow start due to the late hour we arrived this morning, but that was fine with us as we just wanted to take it easy in the area around our hotel. Causeway Bay is an fun place to do some shopping. We spent a lot of time at the Times Square Mall today, a mall directly across from our hotel. It has about 9 floors of shopping and 4 or so floors of restaurants, plus the basement floors of shopping and food courts! We were lucky to stumble upon an event taking place right outside of the mall, a fair put on by the End Child Sexual Abuse Foundation. For a donation of HK $20, you get 4 tickets to spend at the booth of your choice. There were food and craft booths and there was a definite festive, family feel to the fair. I sampled malt sugar biscuits, dragon beard candy, a fresh egg roll, and then I finally was able to control my piggery enough to use at least one ticket on a craft - I got a weaved grasshopper, made of grass before my very eyes! It was a fun experience.

We also walked around the entire Causeway Bay area (not as big as it looks on the map) to check out some crazy department stores and Victoria Park. Victoria Park wasn't as green and quiet as I was hoping, but it was interesting to see just how many people could be packed in the park, socializing and generally having a good time!
