After Arrowtown, we headed back through Queenstown to the Kelvin Heights area, across Lake Wakitipu from the main town. We drove up to Deer Park Heights, a working Deer farm on a large area of hilly land where visitors can drive around and meet the animals (not just deer!)
It was a really fun afternoon, encountering donkeys, alpacas and goats, seeing bison, red deer and highland cattle, plus fantastic views of Queenstown, Lake Wakitipu and The Remarkables mountain area.
We walked around at the top of the hill, around small mountain tarns and rocky outcrops. After Arrowtown earlier, a fantastic and to the day as we spent most of the afternoon there enjoying a gorgeous autumn day.
