We are back in Tanga for the final leg of our journey. This is an opportunity to catch up on email and do the last shop for the house girls before we leave. It has been more relaxed than usual as all seems to be winding down and we have had a relaxing day at the yacht club. Much beer was drunk and we swam in the sea and sunbathed.
Although we still have a week of teaching to go our thoughts have turned to gift buying for our house girls and the people most prominent within the project. Options are limited in Tanga but we will join together so everyone gets something of value.
Hakuna Matata is the way of life

There will be sadness at having to leave the project which we have all become so attached to and the thought of leaving behind the children we have worked so closely with. The improvements they have made in English language is evident and it is sad to leave them as they are progressing so well.
We had a goodbye ceremony at Yamba school on Tuesday and there will be one at Milingano on Monday. It is an emotional time for all.
African life is so very different it is hard to explain but the differences will be most notable on our return. There is no fast lane here. Hakuna matata is the way of life and personally I like that.
Yamba Village bar the school is the same. The school runs a strict timetable which is quite outwith African style. Yamba has a definite feel about it from the hospitality of the people to the very favorable friendliness. It is quite unique for a small village.
I will miss Yamba and all the friends I have made while there. I will miss Tanzania and its people and I do hope I will return one of these days. I wonder what differences I will have made, if any, and if I return will I see them? Watch this space....!
