Fiji was lovely, we stayed on Malolo Island at the Funky Fish Resort – a budget resort ran by Brad Johnstone (An ex-Kiwi AllBlack rugby player!). We had a beach front Bure which was small but lovely. It had a small ensuite bathroom with an outdoor cold shower, which wasn’t great when it was raining, but was lovely when it was hot and the sun was out. However, it rained constantly for the first 2 days! There were floods in Nadi and we were even told there'd been cyclone and tsunami warnings! We had thunder and lightning, it was quite spectacular. We met another couple out there (Aidan and Karen) so we hung out with them the whole time, playing scrabble, monopoly and cards! Luckily it cleared up in the afternoon on second day so we were able to go kayaking and snorkelling as well as work on the tan! Well, Manoj went fishing with Aidan while Karen and I worked on our tans! It was great, we laid out by the pool all day while Manoj and Aidan caught us our dinner! They felt very manly!! The chef cooked the fish, they tasted beautiful!

The snorkelling in Fiji was AMAZING! I've never seen anything like it, it was like swimming in an aquarium! The guy that took us to the reef fed the fish right in front of us, it was a feeding frenzy - I actually got nipped quite a few times! We saw lots of Nemos - so cute! And giant blue starfish . . . Also loads of black and white striped fish which I assume are called zebra fish (or should be if they’re not!). There were so many beautiful, crazy coloured fish it was amazing. The only thing was, after about 15 minutes/half an hour we started to feel a weird tingling stinging feeling all over, it was like being stung constantly by small jellyfish. We found out later that we were being stung by sea lice! How gross! Fortunately they only live in the sea and they didn’t leave marks . . . unlike the mosquitos – we were bitten all over by them and we’re still itching now!

Cyclone and tsunami warnings!

It looks like you're having a LOVELY TIIIIIIME! How will you work on the tan in the Northern hemisphere Vanya? You'll have to get in one of thon sun cabinets and wear some winkees. Sydney's starting to get a tad chilly, I'm considering a jacket, possibly even some shoes. Brad's a large man isn't he? His neck's the same circumference and Manoj's heeed! Sxx
