So Charlie Griffiths and Ben Hawkins came down to Koh Phang gnan for a weekend of island frolicking and then Charlie and I headed to Cambodia together. This entailed a boat to Haat Rin, a boat to Koh Samui stopping briefly for a haircut before flying to Bangkok and then to Siem Reap - all in a day though - lovely! I'll be spending some serious lingering time  - 1 week - at the temples around Siem Reap (pronounced as if you were from Kingston, Jamaica - siem Re-up!) later in December, so our visit was a an Angkor Wat taster for me - and what a tantalising hors d'oeuvre it was! WOW. Breathtaking. And we were fortunate that there didnt seem to be too many people around. We ran around and managed to see 4 temples in a day! Efficient sightseeing or wat!? Not really in keeping with the serenity of the temples but there is plenty of time for that!

In the evening we went to taste a khmer speciality  - Prahoc - fermented fish paste curry.....currently the only thing that has actually made my stomach turn....so we had to go for a swanky drink (or 3) at the beautiful Foreign Correspondents Club - just to take the taste away you understand....
