We left Singapore on the overnight train to KL, which went pretty smoothly despite the bizarre customs and immigration arrangements. The biggest incident was actually at the station in Singapore where there was a stand-off between our taxi driver and the Malaysian car park attendant over the entry fee into the car park. As the traffic built up behind us we feared that we would miss our train, so we got out and walked, leaving them to it!

We had one day to explore KL so we set off for the Petronas Towers to queue for our free tickets to the observation bridge between the two towers. Next stop was the KL tower for a bird's eye view of the impressive looking city. After a quick tour of the colonial areas of town we collapsed back at our hotel just before a massive thunderstorm broke and watched the display of forked lightning over the city.
