Day 5:  Venice

We left Innsbrug early and started on our way to Italy. On our way we passed the most amazing views. The mountains and pines were dusted in snow and sprinkled throughout were little colorful houses.

We then took a gondola ride through the city

After crossing the border at Italy we witnessed another flag ceremony and stopped by a rest stop to grab our first slice of pizza in Italy. Not too long after our stop we arrived in Venice where we had to get off the bus and take a short boat ride into the city. The boat dropped us off near San Marco Basilica where we got a chance to explore for about an hour before attending a glass blowing demonstration. We then took a gondola ride through the city and got some tips from our driver on where to get dinner. The rest of the evening was ours so we spent our time walking around Venice shopping and then having dinner at a nice little restaurant tucked away in a corner. The weather was freezing by dinner so after meeting back up with our group we quickly caught a boat back to our bus.
