We rose early on day 3 to get on the buses once again and head towards Dubrovnik, Croatia. It was a long bus ride but as the Italians say, vole la pena, it was worth it! Dubrovnik now tops my list of my favorite places that I have visited thus far. The city lies within tall walls that surround the entire city on all sides. You can walk the walls of the city and have a spectacular view of the ocean and islands. The main square in the center of town is completely made up of marble, it is quite a sight. The town in itself is quite spread out with streets lined with everything from private homes to little markets. Kayla and I took the opportunity to walk around the walls of the city. It was the best walk I have been on in Europe!! This was a beautiful beautiful city with picturesque red rooftops, lemon groves and great big palm trees. I loved it and would go back in a heartbeat!

So once again I have found there is much more to a place than I could have ever expected!! Croatia and Bosnia were much more diverse than I ever would have imagined and top my list of favorite places at the moment! Oh! And one more point of interest, on the bus trip back up the coast from Dubrovnik to Split we stopped at a rest stop so everyone could use the bathroom, and I tell you this roadside stop had one of the most breathtaking views I have ever seenhere you are lined up next to all these trucks and it looks like something from the land of Narnia. It was really a storybook, mountains, a lake and foggy hills abound!! A little further on the bus drive we passed an area where there was a channel of water with houses lining one side, there was a little airplane flying, more like hovering over the water at about the same speed as our bus. It looked as if it were going to land on the water, but it just went on aside us along these houses lining the channel and finally took off up higher into the air, it was a pretty good sight!!
