Today, a whole group of us from school decided to get some culture in our lives and went to the Peggy Guggenheim Museum.

The museum was only about 5 minutes from school, and had air conditioning - and, since this was THE hottest day so far, we figured it was better than heading back to our sweat-box of an apartment.

Abbey and Jen had mixed reviews of the museum.

Jen described much of the art as "bullshit," while Abbey couldn't get enough.

We saw great paintings by Rothko, Pollock, Severini, Picasso, Dali and Motherwell.

They also had a fantastic exhibit entitled "Venice, Day and Night" by Lucio Fontana - Abbey was absolutely in love with his stuff.

The museum was right on the grand canal, so the views were beautiful.

There was also a garden, complete with a tree planted by Yoko Ono, and the remains of Peggy's multiple dogs (which even Abbey admits was wierd and creepy).

After leaving the museum, it was still too hot to go home to our AC-less apartment, and decided to hang out by the water with our friend Kelly Walsh and hope to catch a breeze.

We stopped in the Billa (grocery store) for some Prosecco - but, unfortuantely, it was warm.

We figured we could cool it down, and make a delicious afternoon beverage, by adding some lemon sherbert.

It was, in a word, heaven.

We felt midly alcoholic taking swiggs from a bottle in the middle of the afternoon, but alas - it was Italia, and anything goes.

And, drinking in the afternoon is certainly more fun than homework!!
