Day 1 - The Journey Begins

What better way to start a long trip than with some good wine, well begun is half done. And we drive into the Napa Valley, the wine country USA.

We had landed on San Jose airport the night before and stayed in Ekta's apartment overnight. Forturnatelty we were four early risers, 10 am, the bags were loaded into her Corolla and we were all set for breakfast and the long roads. California awaits!

The drive to Napa was short and so was the time as we wanted to be in Yosemite before night falls. The area was beautiful with magnificent vinyards on both sides. I knew its gonig to be tough to cover this in the 4 hours we had. We went around, tasted some of the best wine I have ever tasted and visited some absolutely romantic vinyards. Then we were off to a place so stunningly beautiful, that no words can do justice to--- Yosemite.

The drive offered previews of what was to come, water trickling down huge rockfaces and colorful rainbows being created in these magnificent waterfalls--nature creating reality more beautiful than what dreams could be.

We reached Yosemite in the evening and quickly settled down. There was not much to do in the campsite except savor the artificial heaven on earth-daru and pizza. As it got dark, the thought about the bears made us rush back to our tents for a good nights sleep- anyways we would have needed the rest, it was going to be 7 long days ahead.
