We woke up in the institutional hostel in Switzerland to a man coming into the room and declaring “Dix Hueres”. I guess that we slept in. We headed down, packed up the car, and walked into downtown Geneva to get breakfast. The Canadian dollar is almost on par with the Swiss Franc, so prices are easy to figure out. We were a bit shocked when we say that a traditional basic breakfast was $16. We ate Pringles and yogurt.
Before heading out of town we stopped at the United Nations world headquarters. Neato, cool! They weren't giving tours at the time.

We drove back onto the tollway and drove back throught the French Alps to Lyonn, France. At the Lyonn airport we had to pay an extra 80 euros to drop the car off ($120). Our total bill at Budget came to 179 euros for one day ($280). Great.
So we went to the TGV station (TGV is the mega fast train) and bought tickets to Avignon (63 euros ($100) total). The train didn’t leave for about 4.5 hours, so Amy decided to lose our Lonely Planet guide book that we use as our travel bible. Now we have no access to travel information in English, no phone numbers, no maps, no travel advice.

We hopped on the train at 8:30 PM and sped off at 180-200 KM/h. In avignon we called the only hostel. They still had rooms! The man on the phone gave us iffy directions, but we found it. It was full of about 185 kids around 14 years old. Frech kids L. Sleeping was difficult, but we managed. What a long day.
