Sabah - an amazing part of Malaysian Borneo... Kota Kinabalu is a weird flat city still rebuilding and finding its identity after the bombings in the 2nd World War. I felt very safe wandering around on my own, and enjoyed the sea front and the shopping!
The highlight was climbing Mount Kinabalu - hard work but worth it. I was rewarded by stunning views of the sunrise, and extreme pain in my knee by the time i got down! The guides and porters were locals from the Dusun village Kiau, and I was lucky enough to stay with them in Kiau and fall in love with the place. Got pissed on rice wine and played the drums with them! I have promised to go back one day. It was here that I met Zan the English teacher who was the final inspiration for my future TEFL plans!

Orangutans were amazing... turtles were incredible although a little upsetting to see how tourism is perhaps making the 2 projects more like zoos, but at least the funds help.
Trekked more jungle in the Kinabangtan area... threw up in the middle of the jungle quite spectaculary.
The most amazing place I have ever been to - totally knocked out!
