We arrived in Bharatpur about 12:30 after leaving Jaipur at around 10:00 a.m. after breakfast of chai, toast and jam. We chose a really nice guest house, within walking distance of the national park. It was family run, a lady ran it so it was nice and clean and they were really friendly, which was nice. The only thing was that they were doing some building work and it was a little dusty outside, but it didn't really affect us. We got a bargain on the room and paid only 250Rs which was quite bargainous. We had clean sheets and attached bathroom, air cooler and tv so Jamie could watch footie but much to his annoyance (and my amusement!!) they were playing a spurs game instead of the west ham game!

We met the driver at 4pm and went to the national park. We hired 2 bikes and a guide , it costed 300Rs for the two of us which was quite good. Plus he had a really good pair of binoculars, ten times better than the ones the hostel had leant us. The bikes were really uncomfortable, they were old and rusty but they worked (just about!). We saw lots of wildlife; lots of birds (storks, peacocks etc), antelopes, deer, tortoises and turtles etc but there were far too many cows wandering about it seemed to ruin the whole look of the park plus they just got in the way!

Keoladeo National Park- rickety old bikes trying to dodge the cows!
