Okay, I have about 4 minutes to type!

What to say... well, got to Palm Springs without mishap. Spent most of my time there

Thurs, Fri, Sat, just lounging at the pool, talking with Stu... On Friday, saw

Evolution and Crazy/Beautiful at a DOLLAR movie theatre, two dollars after six. It showed movie that had been out for a little bit. Really fun movies to watch, especially Evolution. Crazy/Beautiful made me think about miscommunication between family members

and how gosh darn it is important to work things through if at all possible, thought

of my father, especially with the line, 'I think he's (the dad) is just confused about how to relate to you.' Yeah. So I got the sniffles majorly. Miss you Dad.

Also got to play with Princesa, a horse that Stu is watching for his girlfriend, Natalie.

That horse is so spoiled but so cute! Stu was walking her past me and when I said

Hi,Princesa, she stopped and looked at me! She has a foal who is year and 1/2 old

who was very happy to meet me since I brought him a carrot and some snacks.

Stu had fun washing Princesa off with the hose and made sure her butt was clean 'cause

the horse in the stall next to her, Charlie, was seen sniffing her butt which means

he's interested in horse-talk. And she does have to be bred eventually one more time!

:)

Stu really seemed to love that horse. It was funny watching him make almost baby

talk at her and chase her around the corral with a whip that he kept snapping to make her

run and exercise. Otherwise she would just stop and look at him. She also did a half

roll in the dust once each time she was let in the corral ( I saw her once on Fri and

once on Sat).

Also, met some Armenians from Iran in the pool. They talked about how Iran used to

be and how it changed ...

Okay, put in more money, I want to finish this one!

So yeah, they said that when the 'shah' was the guy in charge, it was very laid back

and as one woman said, homosexuality was even accepted. But then again, she was saying

that during a discussion as to whether homosexuality was something one was born with or

chosen. So she was saying that because it was allowed when the shah was around, but no one was 'out' it has to be a chosen lifestyle. I disagree for the record, but each to

her/his own! Okay, so yeah it was interesting talking with them. They said that the government was corrupt though and the poor kept getting poorer so there was a revolt of

sorts and now there is a new government in power and has been for the past several years.

Only thing with this one is that now the women have to wear those burqas or they get

punished by being whipped, etc. One of the Armenian women said that she was walking across

the street and the wind swept up her skirt and showed some leg all the cars stopped and

the men were staring! (this was when she went back to visit) Also during the conversation, I said why is it always the women needing to cover up to keep from tempting

the men? Is it that the men cannot tempt women ever? And this lady said (there were two

older women and 3 girls around during this conversation, the one boy and the two men

were back at the condo - by the way, Stu's condo overlooked the pool - very cool !

We would eat breakfast right outside the place by the railing - one day there was a

sandstorm which obscured the view of the mountains which were right next to his place -

san jacinto mountain(s) )) Okay, so the lady said what do men have to tempt women with?

Just that thing between their legs! (i think she used some more explicit terminology

but for the sake of our 18 and under viewers, i will not type them!) I was so surprised

because I always associate Armenian women with conservatism.... heh!

Thursday night we went to a street fair where I met Denise, a really awesome martial

arts instructor who teaches aikido on her property and also holds martial arts tournaments

on her property as well. She said that she got really into martial arts and teaching after she got divorced and needed something to do ... She was impressed that I knew the

word for blend in Japanese 'msubi' or as she said 'myogi.' She spoke of how it means

to become one with what you are doing with focus. I mentioned the word when I saw how

she took pieces of stone, geodes and such, and painted on top of them using the natural

colors and imperfections of the rock to create art. Denise had really fabulous energy

and was really comfortable with herself, which was refreshing.

Oh and the MISTERS! They were awesome! At the street fair, along the sidewalks under

the overhang of the stores there are these misters which spray really really fine water

droplets that cool you off... in the winter Stu said they send out heat... I just stood

under one of the them and these two guys walking by made a comment like was I one of those

models that just stand still or something. We actually did see one of them in this

alternative store where stu was looking to buy a nose-ring for his girlfriend. The

model was in the window by the display of other clothes...

Sat night I saw Mike for the first time in 2 1/2 months, it was really cool to chill

with him again. He picked me up around 11:30pm and we headed out to his grandparent's

condo in Rancho Mirage near Bob Hope's house. Bob Hope even has his own road, Bob Hope Drive. The condo had a pool in front of it, like Stu's, but it was a lot bigger and pretty much a one-floor home. It was interesting that both at Stu's and especially at

Mike's there were little to no people around (except for the armo's at stu's/ the armenians for those that don't know the slang).

Me and Mike went grocery shopping for food on Sunday and he drove me around the cart

until some manager told me I had to get out 'cause it was a safety hazard. We got some

great strawberries, oranges, french bread, garlic cheese dip, oj,(i had left my oj and apples), milk and eggs.

On the way back to LA, we stopped at this interesting pit stop where there were two

fake dinosaurs at the back of McD's. I went inside the Brontosaurus and it was a gift

shop. The wind was really awesome that day and the windmills were really going (for wind power). Mike dropped me off at Hollywood International Hostel on Hollywood Blvd (6820) right across the street from Mann's Chinese Theatre and a Theatre where premiers are held.

at stu's)
