Umbria - Assisi

I head to Assisi for the night as I am on my way to Perugia.  The town sits on a hillside overlooking a valley with the most prominant feature being the Duomo and Basilica di Francesco (St. Franci of Assisi, Italy's patron saint and the town's favorite son).

The town is beautiful and is a labyrinth of pedestrianised streets with inspiring scenes waiting to be photographed around each corner.  This particular weekend seems to be some sort of celebration of the Red Cross and there is representation from around the world.  In traditional italian style there is of course a band and a parade.  I manage not to become part of this one and admire from afar.
