Vienna not Venice because after calling it Vence by mistake one time it caught and the whole time we were there we kept calling it Venice by mistake! Though that was our next stop so we should maybe be forgiven!
We arrived mid afternoon, at about half two! So we had plenty of time to have an explore of the city, however the directions to the hostel soon had us lost, they were totally inaccurate, does Vienna know its left from right, so we didnt get there until half four. Rushing back out we headed for the local market on everyday, but today also accompanied by a flea market! Took us a while to get there but we made it before six, closing time. the flea market was like nothng weve ever seen! A crazy carbooty without the carboots, people and their belongings scattered all over the place, just strewn about like a huge messy bedroom, and everybody delving in. It was like they had literally brought along all they owned. moving out toward the proper markety bit and we tried falafel, very tasty indeed! this market was an awesome food market with fresh fish, olives, home made bread, very tempting indeed!

Next stop was The Music Haus! Another music museum! It was fantastic, five levels and ALL interactive, we made our own Vienese Waltz, conducted an orchestra, made crazy sounds and music with sound waves and our hands and all sorts! We could have stayed here hours and hours, unfortunately we needed some food and it shut at ten pm, But one of the best museums yet and definitely worth the euros!
The following day we went to the Stephensdom, the big cathedral, grandeur and gothic, but there was scaffolding obscurring our view! Next to the Hofsburg palace, made prague castle and palace seem like a little silvanian family palace! But was almost a bit too grand! We roamed around in awe and felt very tiny human beings indeed! A trip through some pretty gardens, one of which was The Sigmund Frued garden, less pretty and more weird but still very cool! From here we went to the Rathaus, a spectacular neo gothic building, though we werent sure what it was for, and on the way we also saw the Greek architecture of the Austrian Parliament, very cool indeed.

Lunch at a Vienese coffee house and then to the famous wheel, featured in The Third Man (orson wells) and Before Sunrise, one of my fave films. At the rickety wheel, much more impressive than londons modern london eye we were faced with a big funfair, the very one that Jesse and Celeine from Before Sunrise roam around, we did the same, skipping along to the music and taking in the sweet smell of the candy floss! Running out of sunlight we headed for the Danube River, as couldnt miss this out of our trip then headed home to bed! A wonderful day!
