There comes a time in every superhero's life when he needs to take a break, some superheroes like to do this before they become superheroes (Batman would be a good example of this) but many of the world's finest superheroes, like Gevaar and Superman (and Yvonne Van der Merwe, slightly less well-known but a champion nonetheless, recognised as the second most important thing to come out of Boksberg after Gevaar), are born into superherodom and don't get a chance to enjoy the freedom of anonymity at any stage in thier busy lives.

Luckily there are people out there who really care, people who understand that a superhero cannot stand alone forever and that he sometimes he needs another pair of shoulders to stand on (even if they are only 4 foot high) to achieve the high standards that he has set for himself. One such group of people are the Familie Morley, a wonderful group of Bloubergers that came to Gevaar's aid when he was on the verge of collapse. Severely weakened by some dastardly aquapooh and having to fight off tour guides in his dehydrated state, Gevaar would probably not have made it out of brazil (this confusing land where feminine beauty is directly proportional to the distance from the coast, i.e. inland = inbred) if this wonderful family of syskoppe had not whisked him off to Venezuela for some island hopping on their yacht

Coming from the interior, so to speak although Boksberg does have a wonderful dam, Gevaar was a little unacustommed to the perils of sailing but in no time at all he had found his sea legs and was climbing the rigging like a vervet monkey in a 200 year-old Sycamore fig tree. Hopping from island to island, sipping on G 'n Ts and snorkeling with "visse wat lyk soos hulle 'n reenboog gesluk het", Gevaar found himself unwinding after the tiring months he spent hunting down the evil Pedro and generally getting into the Caribbean way of life. At one stage Gevaar reached such a level of contentment that he was heard to hum a little song to himself:

die see is die plek vir me,
daar waar die dolfyne swem,
die see is vir wat ek stem,

Oooh, die see, die see, die see
Ooooh, die see is my maat"
In return for their kind hospitality and generosity, Gevaar taught Familie Morley how to play backgammon and also found the time to repel the daily pirate attacks (of which there were many), for entertainment he would also occasionally mount a few pre-emptive strikes on other PPP's (Potential Pirate People) in the area but because of his gentle nature he generally let them off with just a light pillaging and was in fact thanked, more than once, for his gentleness and skill when ravishing PPP's of the fairer sex
