Moorea

Just a few minutes left on this computer, and then I'm off to Moorea.  Papeete has kind of been a disappointment-- it's crowded and loud and polluted, but Moorea is supposedly the beaches and clear water that the South Pacific is famous for.  Find out soon enough.

Yesterday I signed up for a 4x4 excursion through the interior of Tahiti island, which was pretty amazing.  There were great views, tropical rainforests, and all sorts of birds and flowers and plants.  Seems to me that the key to Tahiti is to get out of the city as much as possible.

Tonight I'm going to stop in on the one synagogue in French Polynesia and see what they're up to these days, then tomorrow morning it's off to Auckland.  It'll be nice to see some English-speaking, smiling faces again.
