On Mothers Day Lisa took her Mum, her boyfriend and I to Niagara Falls. The falls are about a 2.5 hour drive from Palmerston so we left mid-morning are were there around lunch time. When we got there it was quite overcast and the falls were making so much mist that it was hard to see them. Fortunately we went off to do a few activities and after an hour or so the sun was out and the falls looked gorgeous! One of the things we did was to go on the "Journey Behind The Falls" which was basically a tunnel that had been built over a hundred years ago that went down to the bottom of the falls and then behind them slightly. It was quite interesting in that 100 years ago men had to go down there and dig out those tunnels with the constant thunder of the falls and eventually having to deal with all the water that the falls were bringing in. I dont think anyone could offer me any amount of money to do such a job! After that we went to an Imazx presentation on the falls which was average, but the highlight of the day was the Skylon tower. You got to go up in a glass lift looking out over the falls then at the top you had a 360 degree view of the area. It was gorgeous!
