Left Dunedin at 8.30am, but not before walking up Baldwin Street - the world's steepest street! We were the only two people on our bus to do it, as the rest were a bunch of lightweights! Personally I can't think of a better way to start the day!
We then had a short bus trip to Oamaru, which is a small town north of Dunedin, with not a lot going for it, except penguins!
We caught the Penguin Express from the hostel at 6pm, for the trip to Bushy Beach, where we were lucky enough to see half a dozen yellow eyed penguins. These are very rare, and apparently this part of New Zealand is the furthest north you can see them. They were realyl cool but slightly scary!

We then went back into town, to the penguin colony, to view the Little Blue Penguin. We saw 22 of these, and they are the funniest, cutest things I have ever seen. You stand up in a grandstand, and watch them 'raft' in, then they collect themselves on the beach. They then progress up a ramp, across the track in front of you, and into the nesting boxes which have been set up for them. They are really tiny and just adorable!
We had a fab fish and chip supper tonight, and it cost the grand total of one pound twenty pence! Fantastic.
