Update #6
From United Kingdom & Ireland in Belfast, United Kingdom on Apr 23 '05
Well it feels like a while since we last spoke. Not a lot has happened. Nigel, Antoinette and I left Dublin last Saturday and headed to Belfast. It was really cool. Did some shopping and then did the bus tour around town. It was very interesting going through the Catholic and Protestant areas. Belfast is less scary and dangerous these days, although I still wouldn’t like to be stuck in a bad area late at night! I bought a fabulous brown corduroy very warn jacket and thank god I did, it was freezing in Belfast and that was nothing compared to the Giant’s Causeway! We left Belfast and headed to a place called Ballintoy which is 5 miles from the causeway. We hit the local pubs (2 of them) for dinner and a couple of drinks. They were very bazaar. The next day we woke up and headed to the causeway. Walked around in the freezing cold. I have never been anywhere before like it. I was being blown off the cliff almost. We left the causeway at midday and headed back to Dublin. It was Antoinette’s mothers birthday celebration today and we had to be at her place for 5.30pm. It was great the entire family was there and we had junk food and wine. A great night. After that we headed back to Nige and Antoinette’s place. At around 10 o’clock I got a call from Ciaran, the lovely Irish boy I met a couple of nights ago. He asked me to come over to see him, so I did. The next day I headed home and didn’t do much at all. Just relaxed as I was heading back to London tomorrow. Woke up the next day and started my trip back to London. I left Nigel and Antoinette’s at 9.30am and didn’t get back to Phil and Linda’s until 5.00pm, a long day of travel. So Tuesday night was a quiet one, went to the gym (yes Jeff I did!). Wednesday I had a meeting with a recruiter from Frazer Jones. It was a good meeting. Hopefully they can find me a job soon. Thursday I spent on the net applying for jobs. Thursday night we went out for Phil’s birthday. We went to a bar in Covent Garden and then to a curry house – my first! Woke up yesterday morning with a hangover, hopped on the net and applied for more jobs. Friday night I was supposed to catch up with Alicia, Spary, Bron and Josh, all netball mates that are living over here. I was meeting them at Shepherd’s Bush. Couldn’t get in contact with them so I left after waiting around for an hour and called my Montenegran buddy from last time I was in London. Stayed the night with him and now I am back at Phil and Linda’s waiting around until I leave at 4 to catch up with Alicia et al (take two) and then I am catching up with Pete for my first big night on the town in London! Apparantly I will be going clubbing tonight with Kylie’s agent (that’s Minogue), so I will be working my magic to try and get to another concert! Oh Mi GOD! I head to Glasgow on Monday to catch up with the boys I met over Mardi Gras! Staying with young Gordie, should be fun! Next time we speak it will be from Glasgow.
