Seems so long since we were here now, we've been very slack with the blog updates. But who wants to spend their day in an internet cafe anyway?
Koh Lanta is very different to Phi Phi, post being blinded by the beauty of Phi Phi, at first glance we thought Koh Lanta was quite ugly! Beaches galore but all darker sand, with loads of rocks. But after spending some time there we discovered its charms were in its very laid back, friendly, bohemian vibe. Lots of nice cafes taking advantage of views over the beach/sunset, with ambient straw & coconut styled lanterns and loads of chill out music...and loads of tours available to nearby marine parks or pristine snorkelling spots.

Thats where Koh Lanta really made our day, with a tour to nearby Koh Rok Nok, a pristine marine national park with stunning fish all less than a few mtrs below the ocean surface (aka great snorkelling). We saw clown fish playing in the anemone, a giant clam, giant white and blue starfish, angel fish, butterfly fish, and countless other colourful fish. And here, unlike Phi Phi, the fish didn't try and eat us!
Lunch was on a pristine white sand beach with a couple of cute beach cats trying to get their hands on the left overs. Its very strange seeing cats on the beach, but anything is possible in Thailand.Anyway, will leave you with some pics as this is the cheats way to tell the story..
