Niramon Villas - Koh Phangan - Chalok Lam Bay

We have just come back from Koh Phangan where we stayed at Niramon Villas at Chalok Lam Bay. This is on the north of the island looking over to Koh Tao and it is a very wild kind of area with lots of trees and jungle as opposed to buildings and towns. Much more with nature.

We came across this place when we were walking along the beach and crossing the river that opens out into Chalok Lam Bay. They were still building the place but we asked if we could stay and we were allowed to.

We would have stayed longer but our plane was packed and ready to go.

What struck us was the design of the villas which were brand new overlooking the pool with views out to sea over the beach. All the beds and everything inside were new and fresh and because the grounds were so large there was absolutely loads of space. Not that that mattered cos there was just us and the builders.

Despite the restaurant not being open we were fed by the owners who seemed to adopt us. They spoke English very well as most had been working for many years on Koh Samui before coming back to help out with a new family business.

Just as we left to come back there was the official opening ceremony where we were guests of honor along with the mayor of the village.

Its a great place. We would have stayed longer but our plane was packed and ready to go.
