Barcelona and Mt. Serrat

We chose poorly our tour for Barcelona.  We spent most of our time "seeing" Barcelona from the bus (most of which we missed because we passed so quickly).  We did get out to walk around the Gaudi cathedral.  He had a very unique style of architecture, and it's now clear from where we get the term "gaudi".  The highlight of the tour was Mt. Serrat.  The mountains are, indeed, uniquely beautiful.  But, it was so crowded that we couldn't even get into any of the buildings before it was time to board the bus again.  Before taking us back to the ship, we had lunch with the flies - literally. We were ushered into a restaurant that was buzzing with flies.  We knew we were in a different culture when our table asked for a new bottle of vinegar, because there were gnats floating in ours.  "Bugs?  Is okay!  Is okay!"  (Uh...no its not!)

Interesting sculptures...nice for his use of nature...

We really didn't experience Spain at all, and will have to visit again.
