Day 20 Hoi An
Arrived in Danang at 2pm after 15hrs on the train! The journey from Hue to Danang was very scenic. I was taking pics from the train window. We were right on the cliff edges at times and kept wondering how old the rickety old bridges were! We had to get a taxi to Danang bus staion which was once again a big gravel park. We were ushered out of the taxi and straigth onto a local bus. We sat at the back with all our bags. The journey took over an hour to get to Hoi An. The bus just kept getting fuller and fuller. We were jammed in like sardines. i lost sight of Laura as so many people crammed in, us being the attraction as we were the only foreigners once again. There were gorwn men sat on each others knees which we found pretty amusing. can't quite picture my dad and his makes sitting on each other knees on the bus ha ha! It also caught our eye how many Asian men have creepily long pinkiny fignernails! It's prety revolting, maybe its a religous thing or something. It's also mingng how they all spit all the time(the men) Keep think they are gonna spit on us but it's just one of their customs it seems!

Got dropped off in another gravel pit with no clue where we were. Ended up having to get a motorbike taxi. i swore i wouldnt get on one of those crazy Vietnam machiens but we had no option. There we were whizzing around the streets with our rucksacks balancing on the bikes. What a sight! We trailed aorund for ages trying to find a room, but had no joy. Everything was booked up! We did knwo it was a big festival on that weekend- great eh! We had to end up going to stay ina resort and pay more thjan we would ha likeut it was ncie to have a bit of luxury for once. We even had a nice pool ;o) As soon as we got in we had a speedy shower and headed out to the tailor shops. Within an hour we had been measured up and picked out 2 dresses and 2 tops to be made. I picked the material too. So cheap it's unbelievable, you couldgo CRAZY here! We were to go back the next day to check they fitted, how speedy is that! They wor through the clock!

After dinner we headed down to the old town and soaked up the atmosphere. The place was buzzing. There were beautiful ornate laterns lit and hanging from just about everywhere you looked, It was so pretty, there were even lanterns floating down the river awwwwww We sat and had a drink as we watched the festivities. Nice evening.
Day 2
Wandered around the old town. So many galleries and amazing artwork. If only i had 5 suitcases i would have been in shoppers heaven. We tried out Hoi An specialties for lunch, White Rose( Shrimp dumplings) and Cao Lau (noodles, pork, croutons) both were delicious. It was entertaining trying to use the chopsticks with the slippery noodles ha ha
Went to a market and ended up having a manicure and my eyebrows "threaded" threading is when they wax your eyebrows, legs etc with a big piece of thread!. It blinking agony. I was glad i had just shaved my legs, poor Laura hadnt and ended up getting hers done awoch! Acht well it's another experience to add to the collection!
I gave into temptation once again and ended up have my feet measured up for a pair of sandals! Couldn't resist. The drew around both my feet and measured around them too. felt liek a move star ha ha! I got to pick the style , heel, colour ect that i wanted how cool it that. they delivered them to our hotel later that night and they fitted like a glove- perfect ;o) I really didn't want to leave Hoi An- wonder why eh! I will be back !
