Carnival in Mazatlan

After an 11 hour journey J and I arrived in the early hours in Mazatlan where we met Row who'd performed a journey of similar length!

We were a bit worried about finding a hotel coz of it being carnival but third time lucky we hit a pretty decent hotel, inexpensive and close to the beach.

Lunging at carnival

After a bit of a girly gossip (I'm allowed to partake) we went into the old centre of Mazatlan which has a small, pretty plaza. We had breakfast and then hit the beach. The beach was clean and practically empty and the sea not too cold... perfect!

Then it was back to the hotel, (via stop to get alcohol,) to admire some pretty weird tan lines, the best being a bow on Row's back. After showers drinking commenced and Row taught us how to play poker- v addictive!

Stef arrived a few hours later and we went back to the centre to eat and have some beers. The square was heaving- everyone determined to enjoy carnival by drinking and dancing as much as possible!
