Auckland

After a 13 hour flight we arrived in Auckland very early in the morning. We met a lovely elderly couple from the north island on the flight who offered us accommodation in their ranch, they wanted to put us up for a few nights, show us around and even promised to make us her special homemade cookies, very nice people, but the place they live wasn't on our itinerary so we had do decline.

The first day in Auckland was very strange coming from south America, so we took a stroll around the city, with me (suzanne) salivating at all the high street shops and boutiques, fab shopping in this city. Auckland is very clean, spacious and full of young people, looks like a great place to live. One of the very obvious things here was the amount of Asians living here, you would nearly thing you were in Singapore, they're everywhere!!

We stumbled on a Dwali Indian festival too with great food and all dressed in the traditional gear. The harbor here is beautiful, full of swanky sail boats and a great place to hang out in the sunshine. After recovering from jet lag the following day i got my hair done in a salon (by another Asian girl) who did a fantastic job for the equivalent of 60 euro, which was great! After a spot of shopping we picked up our camper van from a company called Juicy and had to learn the ropes of how to set up the bed etc...
