Warwick and Stanthorpe
From More than 100 Days on the road in Warwick, Australia on Mar 04 '08
we went for a run down to Stanthorpe to see the towns activities and the window competition. Four good ones in all the competition is not well represented by a number of busineses. Some say they haven't got the time, others have no idea what to do. The pick was the Furniture and God shop at the bottom of town near the creek. Then the Commonwealth bank and the Heritage bank and lastly one of the chemist shops. The God shop owner got an inspiration sent to him and it gave him the layout. So he is busy working on it. But he did take us out the back and gave us some huge grapes, about an inch diameter each and in red and white. On our way back to Warwick we called into a fruit farm and got some peaches and apples. The season for the peaches has ended and what was left weren't the best, a bit woody and will take a while to ripen. The apples are on now and delicious. Also grown in the area are raspberries and strawberries, but we haven't seen any of them.
Apple & Grape Festival every 2 years next 2010
