As good as Guinees
From Mr Messy in Kilkenny, Ireland on Jul 01 '08
From Waterford we again went the long way and at the end of the day found ourselves in Kilkenny.
We have deliberately stayed of the highways in an attempt to see the real Ireland and so far its been well worth it. The scenery is astounding, everything is as it looks in a postcard, and the people have been great. Really friendly and helpful.
You might be able to guess but we again stayed in a little pub and had a great night with some of the locals, even is 1 was a pom and another American but there were a few Irish as well.
Kilkenny is a bit of a non-descript town, nice enough but nothing special when compared to other we've been to. My only dissappointment was that I could not buy a Kilkenny ale, they dont sell it there so settled for Beamish which is made at the same place. Sorry Damon, still have not found Caffreys anywhere but I'm still looking. Apparently it's lost popularity since you left.
