Venice
From The Journey Begins in Venice, Italy on Jun 27 '06
We arrived in pretty late to Venice so we cheated and took a cab to our campground that is on the mainland off venice, GREAT trailer thing we had to ourselves with a nice bathroom and all, and very cheap! That night we just watched football then started early into the city the next day. It was amazing to finally see the canals that still seem unreal even when you are there, Mom that Vivaldis Ring of Mystery tape I had as a kid was definately bringing me back! I think though that the masks in the stores were one of my favorite parts! That and the buildings along the water, the architecture was so amazing! We basically went into every church and museum we came across, one display on musicians (mainly vivaldi) was so neat and had the music throughout, SO amazing, I need a cd when I return! St. Marks square was so great but due to my infinate fear of pigeons which were EVERYWHERE i was frightened (oh yes, I think I forgot a pigeron was in our ROOM in naples, I hid under the covers screaming "RACHEL DOOOOOO SOMETHING" but basically we just hid til it got away). The rest of Venice was fairly low key, but Rachel left us to move to London so that was a sad goodbye. The day we left we just sat by the pool and swam as in 40 degree heat we didnt feel like doing much else!! We also convinced another Aussie named Kerry to come to Vienna and Mom I met someone from DUBBO, I could not beleive it!!!
