Alive and in Greece

We were barely alive but we made it here in one piece. The plane ride was very long and we were so tired because we essentially lost a day.

We are going on our cruise tomorrow so you probably won't hear from me in a week. One funny thing happened already because of the language barrier...Steph tried to get a hot dog and said she wanted it with cheese, extra cheese. Don’t know if the person behind the counter understood, but Steph just got a hot dog bun with cheese. NO hot dog! Hahahaha. I got a sandwich which was quite good. We had so far met up with our cruise tour group and were ready to go for the next day. We also got to experience rush hour on the metro. It got pretty packed and no one liked us because of our big backpacks.

One funny thing happened already because of the language barrier...

The first night we wandered around the shopping district on Ermou street. Shops stay open til midnight and they had shoes shoes shoes on display in the front windows with prices beside them. I am not a huge shoe person, but I know many people who would be incredibly amused by this.

The next day we had some time to kill before we had to leave for our cruise so we wandered around the city a bit and saw our first tourist attraction, the Church of Saint Asomatos. Kind of meh, but it was free.

When we get back from our cruise, we are going to meet up with a friend in Athens to find out what Athenians do for fun.
