Today has been a bit layed back, it is Sunday. But we did visit the Gilgai Estate Winery and came away with a couple of bottles. One a lovely Shiraz Mataro. You could drink this red wine hot or cold and as it says on the bottle with a salad or a hot dish. Just a small winery and a very interesting owner who is at the moment busy building a beehive or a strawberry pot type construction of a house and all by himself. Then it was out to the Copeton Dam a 70K round trip from Inverell. This dam is the water supply for Inverell and going on the level marks on the barrage the water level is about 50 meters lower at the moment.. Green every where but no water in the dam. On the way back we called in for a tea and scone at a shop that also sells the local saphines. From our small knowledge of the Anakie saphines the local Inverell saphires look a bit lighter in colour to Anakie and the other thing we thought we noticed was the price is lower too. But after a few wines everything changes and perspective has a new angle. But for those who know I don't drink at all if I'm driving. so the perspective is only now while I sit a type. The other thing we did today was visit the Inverell Gun Club amidst a big competition. Lovely facilities with a club house and well planned range We also went to the morning market on the river bank. Local produce, everyone sells big pumpkins down here, dog coats for big and small dogs, jewellry , books, collectables and other junk. Some of the stalls were the same as we saw at the Hospital Markets in Glenn Innis. The Van Park here is lovely, quiet, well off the highway and the site we have is level in X & Y, so it was a dream to set up. Tomorrow will be the shops in down town Inverell and a real saphire fossicing place, then get ready to move on to Armadale and look for a place to spend Easter.

Every town has a market
