Senior Spring Break

So I spent my last college spring break in Negril, Jamaica. The line for customs was so long and it was so hot and rather exhausting and frustrating. Finding the bus was complicated and no one really told you what was going on. When we got there it was raining and the bus ride to Negril was rather interesting because the bus driver kept stopping at KFC and random places to pick up family members and buy mangos. I was tired and just wanted to get to the resort already. We got there in the rain and it wasn't really what we were expecting/hoping for. We walked around the resort in the rain and everything looked so drab and no one was outside so we were starting to get worried that no one was at this resort and it was going to be a long week. The food was pretty dissappointing since it was an all inclusive plan. Our room was a little shabby. We had ants all over the floor and no one seemed to care. It was so hard to get a hold of the front desk and have anyone care about you. We asked for two beds, but only got one and they wouldn't switch us because they told us everything was booked. There is no way everything was booked unless people hid in their rooms all week. There wasn't much of a beach and the pools were less than great. We just had to make the most of it. I wouldn't come back to this resort in the future. It was a fun time, but I don't know if I would bother to return to Jamaica over other places in the Caribbean. Nightlife was fun, but you can usually find fun nightlife wherever you go. We did love the rum cakes though.

A less than perfect break ya mon

Negril is awesome! Bar hopping is a definite must there. Just go with a local who keeps you from awkward situations. I did some hiking as well but I dont know if thats your cup of tea.
