Accomadation fit for a queen...
From Lo! in to the infamous sherwood forest I go! in Nottinghamshire, United Kingdom on May 25 '08
I arrived at about 10:30 in the morning. The trip from London was only 1 hour and 20 minutes on the train and I almost didn't get off when I was suppose to... Familiar story. However, I managed to drag my heavy bag up the aisle and out of the train. I was greeting by a rather large version of Angus... Although I have seen him in grown up form before I am afraid that I will always be stuck in a time warp when it comes to the Perks children. I arrived at this amazing old vicarage which is the Perks home and it was just lovely. The garden is especially a stunner and I am amazed at all the work that Beverley has put in to it. I will take some photos at some stage and add them to this blog. My room is in the very top of the house and was like a little fairy tale room. With quaint english trinkets and beautiful antique furniture. Very "Anne of Green Gables" style... which.. of course... I love! I have spent the first couple of day just relaxing and enjoying this great old house. It has been wonderful to catch up with Bev and Graeme again. On the day I arrived we also had a great banquet where I was able to meet Bev's brother and Graeme's brother and sister in law. Graeme's sister in law is a science teacher in high school and is very passionate about her job. ... I love it! I also got to meet a local called Tony... Not sure how he fits in but he had me laughing with tales of travel. Quite a typical country character. He said my Australian accent was quite strong. hmm, I still call Australia home!
Having a great time relaxing and talking with friends... just lovely.
