What a great ride today. Wind had dropped but still slightly behind us. Decided to ride from Cambrai rather than backtrack to Landrecies. Started out under overcast skies but quite comfortable as bodies not too sore (yet). Got 11km out of town and reached into back pocket for the map, only to find THE VAN KEYS! Oops. Had to turn around and return them and fortunately that was mostly downhill. After this false start we continued on and had fabulous day. Lovely rolling hillside filled with knee high corn and thus looking like Montana. Went through nice town of St Quentin and then had fabulous stretch on flat farmland with wind at our backs all the way to Compeigne. Prize for nicest town so far awarded to Nampcel which sits in little valley surrounded by forest. Ride included first category climb, a little Category 4 climb out of Blerancourt but no trouble. In total we rode 118km in 4 hrs 38 min at 24.5 kph average.

lads fantastic work, green with envy.....a suggestion, tie the van keys to a concrete block A) less chance of the "Key muppet moment" reoccuring B) The block can also be used as cruise control whilst driving the van. C) You can take it on the town in paris on completion coz concrete is very sexy....just ask Thor!!! Good look lads look forward to the update....

Fabulous! Looking forward to pictures when you have time. I think you need to expand your description of the experience from mere geography to dices between Julian and Thor, who won and the dirty tactics employed, and perhaps even the description of lunch....as food is perhaps just as rewarding as the view!
