Considering the size of Singapore, we thought that the zoo would be a few minutes, may be half a hour by MRT. But, we were sadly mistaken. It took us more than 1 and 1/2 hour to reach the zoo plus another 1/2 hour wait, in the sweltering heat, at the bus station.

But time did fly when we reached the zoo. Getting the entrance tickets were easy and we went straight in to see the white tigers. What i like about the zoo is that they have a glass door section in each animal enclosure which allows a close up of the animal (if the animal feels like it) We were lucky to have seen some wild animals really close up which made the kids so excited.

They were so cute and bristly and happily ate from our hands. We could feel their teeth in our hands but, no harm done.

We enjoyed the Kangaroos the best as they were just lounging along with us. They walked up to us,  and even allowed us to pet them. We went there again during their feeding time and agreed to feed them. The only sad part was that we couldnt take better pics and preserve the memory.

Another nice time was the Endangered species Nature walk. We are allowed to walk in freely into an enclosure were all the animals and birds were let loose. We got to see lot of animals in their own home. The bats were just hanging there- upside down- just a hand away from me... There were ducks and iguanas, small deers- lots of animals and birds to see. It was a great! There was a similar enclosure for snakes too, to see the snakes at their natural habitat. But i was not strong enough to enter it.

Penguins too were a sight to see, some protecting their young and some paddling in water and few diving into the water. All in all, it was really a nice place to be but the distance was too much, even with the free tram rides inside the park. But we really had a  great time there and would recommend it to everyone. Not to be missed!
