The Island of Hvar was visited by accident and was decided at the last minute as we failed to find a place to stay in Split and opted to flee to a nearby island. We called numerous hostels on the island but the weekend increased our plight as all hostels were fully booked. This was not the way to end a trip such as this. One hostel took pity on us and offered us a place to stay on the island but we would have to be in contact with her throughout the night as she was to give us instructions on how to get to the hostel once we landed on the island.
Things were not helped as there was a festival in the main square which made progress towards where the hostel was located laborious.
