R: We seemed to take the "scenic" road to Holguin from Guantanamo. I've never seen such bad roads, you really need an SUV or tank or something. Out Kia Picante wasn't really up to the job but somehow we made it through the mountains. We also picked up a couple of hitch hikers - a man and wife (the first of just 3 men we picked up). They were really nice though, and we took them to their home in Sagua de Tanamo and they brought us in for a coffee, and showed us their chicks and cockerels in their garden!!! After that the road got a bit better, and a few hours and a few passengers later we were in Holguin. We only really had one afternoon/evening there, so we just walked around the town (there are 3 main plazas) and had a meal in a restaurant. It wasn't that nice and there were too many flies for my liking!!

So that was Holguin. Sorry!
