Well we arrived on Oct. 23rd / 2007, and we have been here for 3 weeks. This is a update of what we have been doing since arrived. We are here until Apr. 1st. / 2008. The desert is beautiful, the vegetation is amazing, I am enjoying the cactus they are such a hoot. Our site is very nice, we have lots of shade which is very important here in the desert. The view from our living room is wonderful, the sunsets are something to behold. Jack and Lauren and their children Kristen, Michael and Patrick are very nice and helpful, with information about the area. Our neighbours are great people, Kyanne on one side is a writer and works from home which is a Montana like ours, she has a dog Lucy who gets along well with Toby. We have worked out a system with Kayanne where we look after Lucy when she is away and she does the same for Toby when we are out. On the other side is Randy and Laura, they are from Minnesota. Randy works in construction in Phoenix and Laura is a nurse, which may come in handy sometime. Jeannie and Irene are other ladies who live in the park and are very nice. There are two other workamper couples here who are from Canada. Ron and Donna are from Wasaga Beach ( it is a small world ) and Gene and Diane are from Kingston. They are all very nice folks, we all try to help one another if we have any work questions. It is nice to know we have people like this to work with. There are a few projects ongoing here in the park, the washrooms and the laundry are being remodeled and they are going to be beautiful when finished. Diane is looking after the landscaping and is doing a great job, apparently this summer they had a bad drought and lost much of the plants, so Diane is getting them back into shape. There are some very interesting plants here, the century plant, the cactus and some of the trees are most unusual. We have done some driving to see some of the area, we have been into Phoenix several time and we seem to be getting our bearings in the city. We have been to the flea market and checked out some of the golf courses. Some of the courses are very exclusive, gated and manned gates. We have found some municipal courses that are priced reasonable and quite pretty. We have taken the truck up into the mountains on some roads we would never have travelled at home. There are a lot of ghost towns around here, Bumble Bee, Cleator and Crown King are a few. If you are interested you can go to Ghost Towns of Arizona and see some of them online. We have been able to get tickets to a Coyote and Leaf game on Nov. 24th, so if you are a fan watch and you may see us. We have taken a trip up to Sedona, what a amazing place. We took a number of photos but they just do not do the area justice. The color of the rocks are so red and beautiful. Oak Creek Canyon is a great ride, the switchback roads are kind of scary but the view is worth it. At the top some natives are selling their jewelery and Norman got a ring that is very nice. Back in Sedona the shops on the main street and galleries are wonderful. Sedona is a must to see, the next time up there I want to check out the vortexes, will let you know about them later
