· Today was mainly a travel day. We set off from Largs still along the coast, by passing Glasgow and we headed up through the beautiful Scottish highlands. This was unreal. We had lunch at a picnic area over looking Loch Lomond. As we approached the valleys with huge mountains towering either side of the road, it went very dark and clouds seem to sweep across from no-where. It was fascinating with a hint of eeriness at the same time- as if in a movie! We pulled over at a parking stop where we took photos of this massive deer. Typically he was hanging round the fast food van that was open there for the travelers so he’s obviously a local- well fed for sure! This led us to the town of Fort Williams. Nice place where we decided to get a camp spot, charge everything up, lap up the hot showers, and finish the washing. It’s been nice to have an afternoon to ourselves not having to get to a destination. We love this caravan park so we’re going to ask if there’s any chance of any work here (fingers crossed). The place just has a nice feel about it- not to mention brilliant scenery. We are overlooking the UK’s biggest mountain, Ben Nevis at 1340 mtrs- not much higher than the one we conquered! We went for a short walk and spoke to a nice man who owned the local computer store. He made both our day in the one conversation- telling Kev of free internet at Macca’s and Jules that the real train used in Harry Potter is just up the road!! The night quickly turned very chilly so we’ve spent the rest of it with cups of tea in our lovely warm cosy Wikki.
