Alrighty - So we left Shuswap Lake early the next morning and hitched our way to Banff (minus the thumb out...and the fact that we had a vehicle...so really there was no hitching involved).

*Please forgive my rusty memory about the earlier days of the tour...I'm writing up about it over a week of it happening!*

Beleive me the postcards are no exageration

First stop on the way was Go Carting. AWESOME! No rules - Go crazy. Was a quaint wee track which we were able to reck havoc on for 15mins and was great fun.

View from Go-Karts. Nice lil mountain thingys.

Scenery on the way into Banff was gorgeous, some of the best sights I've seen so far - its crazy because everywhere I go theres just so much to see and everything is so varied. We drove through the Monashee Mountains and on Rogers Pass which is famous for Avalanches...great to know when you're driving through it! We stopped at a Natural Bridge where I managed to put myself in the wrong place at the wrong time and missed out on the first bear sighting! Wasn't to happy at all, but later in the trip made up for that misplacement so all turned out swell. (Oh - the natural bridge was pretty and all that rara stuff to).

I think this were the beginning of the Rockie Mountains. Aren't they hott.

It was a scorcher of a day that day and the last place you want to be is in a bus, so we stopped at Emerald Lake. It was the first pure aqua lake I've seen. I've always thought the photos you see on postcards are tinted with and messed with on photoshop, but beleive me the postcards are no exageration. It was the most amazing lake and remains to stick in my mind as it was all just so perfect. The only thing about the aqua lakes that maybe aren't so great....They're FREEZING! (Obviously!). So as it was such a stunner of a day and we were all hot and bothered, we just jumped in (Yes Chel - I think I have graduated from our wee swimming group now and I can go in with the big guns!). It actually wasn't as cold as expected, so we had a nice wee wade around, Fantastic!

The Natural Bridge...ooooh.

From there, we made it into Lake Lousie, did the compulsury stop at the Liqour store then drove our way into Banff. The Hostel we were staying at was a bit of walk to the City Centre so we had dinner and a drink in the Bar/Resuraunt at the Hostel before moving into town for a...um an interesting night full of suprises (I think that sums it up nicely now doesn't it Mark!).
