The past month and a half has flown by at exceptional pace.  We have adjusted to life in our flat quickly.  It helps that we pretty much love everything about it, the location, the cosiness and our flatmates.

While the majority of the past month has been a 'savings' period, having splashed out on our first joint paycheck with necessities, trips, and buying a few 'wants', we have still been able to have plenty of fun, the highlights of which would have to be going to our first musical, 'Wicked', and, more importantly, going to our first premiership match, Chelsea vs Everton.

The only downside of the match was the fact Karen went with Chelsea as her team

Wicked was a fantastic show and is performed right next to Victoria station, which was super easy for Karen and I as we work just three minutes walk away, and it is the station we use to get home to Clapham.  We went with our flatmates, Jacqui and Dave, both of whom loved it too... well Jacqui more than Dave...  The show is set in the land of Oz and tells the 'untold' story of the 'Wicked Witch of the West'.  It was truly awesome, and had an amazing cast, fantastic set and great story to tell.  I loved learning the secrets of Oz (i.e. the Scarecrow and the Witch were get-ting it on!!

The football match was a great surprise to both of us.  We had been a bit bummed at not being able to go away with our friends, having opted to instead stay behind and save a bit more much needed money.  However, David (uncle) phoned up on the Friday to offer us his and Sarah's season tickets for a match on Sunday!  As you can imagine it was not an offer I was about to refuse, and so began the build up of my excitement for the weekend.

We arrived at the stadium in the nick of time, and literally walked into the stands as a minutes silence began (it was remembrance Sunday).  It was a very cool way to see the stadium, packed to the brim in full silence, with the players on the pitch not more than 50m away!

We had great seats, just the ninth row back, and I pretty much spent the next 90 minutes in awe at the skill level, crowd atmosphere and just awesomeness of the entire event.  Going to a premiership match has been residing near the top of my 'to-do list' for quite some time now, it was such a thrill to be able to check it off.

The game ended 1-1, with Everton shattering the hearts of the home crowd with a cracking goal in the last two minutes.  Tim Cahill positioned himself perfectly in the box, jumped up and smashed home a scorching bicycle kick, yikes, it was pretty special!

The only downside of the match was the fact Karen went with Chelsea as her team... hmm, do I see some rather heated matches in the future!!
