After all the hectic going this past month I decided to board a bus and head to the south west coast of Cambodia to a town called Sihanoukville. The 4 hour bus journey (US $7) was a tad painful as drivers in this country beep at everything and anything and the noise was deafening! Luckily for me I had my iPod so was able to watch some videos that my bro uploaded for me - cheers bro!

Upon arrival I was expecting to be hassled by tuk tuk drivers like I was in Phnom Penh (and to be honest I was really sick off and it was turning me off the place). After chatting to this English guy who runs a bar and restaurant here he advised me to hop on the back of a moto and this guy was would take me around until I found a guest house I liked. So off he went and placed my massive rucksack in front of him and I perched on back with my back pack, I was like his bird! Was surprisingly comfortable but definitely the most interesting form of transport I have had yet! Found a nice guest house on Ochheuteal beach for the grand price of US $5 a night and for that I get my own room with two double beds and own bathroom. There are lots of backpackers around and the beach across the road is full of bars and restaurants with lay abouts like me hanging around. People are friendly so I am off out to enjoy some sun!

Next stop is Koh Tao in Thailand to get my diving licence...some details on my journey to get there -

One 5 hour bus journey from Sihanoukville (US $3.50 - half the price on the way back for some reason?) to Phnom Penh, stop over in guest house on Sisowath Quay (US $10), one hour flight from Phnom Penh to Bangkok (US $50), taxi share with Oz/English couple I met at airport to Khao San Road (EURO 3.50 pp), 10 minute walk in heat with rucksack on my back to find travel agent (free of charge)....and I am still not where I want to be!!!!

Boarding a bus on a little over an hour which is bound for Koh Tao (US $30). Will leave Khao San Road at 9pm and arrive at the ferry port at 5am. I have been told I have two hours to kill until I hop aboard a ferry which will take me to where I want to be - the island of Koh Tao. After all I have heard about it, it better be worth it! Looking forward to finally getting my PADI diving licence!
