We took a day trip on the Eurostar train to Paris from London. The train was much like every other train. The French countryside we passed through was beautiful. It was raining in Paris by the time we got there, but fortunately we had arranged to take a guided tour of the city to maximize our short time there. We got to see (from the bus) the Louvre, the Champs-Elysses, Rodin's Thinker statue, Notre Dame, the Pont-Neuf, the Arc de Triomphe, and lots of other stuff. We were scheduled to get off the bus at the Eiffel Tower, but of course there was a political demonstration that day so we couldn't do that. All in all, this was a good introduction to Paris, but I would definitely like to return some day.
