Hey everyone.

We are spending a couple of days in the political capital of the Netherlands Den Haag. Robin drove us to near by Zoetermeer and we caught the bus in to Den Haag Centraal from there. The first place we went to after checking into the hostel was Scheveningen which is a very nice seaside area of Den Haag. Being Aussies it was very nice for us to see the beach again! Restaurants and shops are placed right on the sand making the beachside area very popular and busy. We walked along the promenade and looked at lots of street stalls and the casino right at the edge of the peer overlooking the beach, right next to people bungy jumping! We were even lucky enough to see some Dutch lifeguards doing their thing...sexy devils!

We got a nice gelati and sat and admired the beach, and it was also crazy for us 2 Aussies to realise that we were looking at the stretch of water that leads straight to the UK...amazing!

Afterwards, we headed to the political hub of the Netherlands, walked around the parliamentary offices and saw where the Queen gives important addresses to the country. Not far away was the Queens palace which looked very magestic! I don't think she was home though, her flag wasn't flying. Never mind!

We then headed to a nice restaurant and got dinner and chatted with Robin about life and reminisced about old times down under. After dinner we had to say goodbye to Robin as he was heading back to the east to do an important presentation!

The next morning we headed to Madurodam, which is a miniature version of all the important landmarks of the Netherlands. The weather wasn't really on our side though, but we managed to escape the hail and thunder by being in a tram. At Madurodam the weather was a little better, and we walked around looking at mini Holland! Very cool, with lots of detail going into the models!

After this we headed back to the hostel to grab our things as we were heading off to Amsterdam for a few days, meeting Robin and Emilie there in a couple of days to do some sightseeing together!

Stay tuned!

Lots of love, Anna and Michael xox
