So, Why do you want to learn Chinese??? is probably the most frequently asked question I get here.  They don't even have to ask if I'm from the states, I think my size, my attitude and my volume give all that away....and I'm not half as bad as some here, I can be quiet when I want to.  But every Tiawanese person asks me this with a face of complete bewilderment.  I tell them in my broken, sorry Chinese that I took it because I thought it would be more interesting than French and thought that it was so I decided to study it further.            This apparantly is not an acceptable answer and they take it that as another crazy foreigner, I am full of crazy ideas.  Truth is, I just kind of stumbled into this field...  I didn't think I could compete with the masses of girls learning french hoping to go to France and find their love in Paris.  Nor could I compete with the sheer volume of Spanish students.  Chinese is still sort of a new frontier.  It is very foreign compared to the orderly, franchized open feel of the United States.  And most of the other foreigners that I met have had a sort of similar inkling.  \

It is still hot and I still haven't found out how to upload my copious amounts of pictures but I have figured out how to order Pearl Tea to my exact specifications.  HOOORAYYYYY  things are getting better. :)

as another crazy foreigner, I am full of crazy ideas.

I also <a href="http://www.hellomandarin.com/" target="&quot;_blank&quot;">learn mandarin</a> in <a href="http://www.hellomandarin.com/program/process.html" target="&quot;_blank&quot;">Beijing Chinese School</a> (www.hellomandarin.com). I like to <a href="http://www.hellomandarin.com/" target="&quot;_blank&quot;">learn Chinese</a> in live class with teachers from Beijing directly. I also like to <a href="http://www.hellomandarin.com/connectingchina" target="&quot;_blank&quot;">practice mandarin with volunteers</a> freely everyday. Watching Chinese mandarin learning TV on <a href="http://cltv.hellomandarin.com/" target="&quot;_blank&quot;">CLTV</a> is also interesting and helpful to practice listening and learn more about <a href="http://www.hellomandarin.com/ilovechinese/index.html" target="&quot;_blank&quot;">Mandarin</a>
